Silk weavers are considered descendants of Sage Markanda, a master weaver of Gods. Its believed he made fabrics woven out of divine lotus.
Its believed since the very beginning designs incorporated into the kanchi sarees are a mix of mythological characters , auspicious patterns and other figures inspired by the Temples of Kanchivaram , a land of Pallavas.

CRAFTSMANSHIP
The Dyes used in making Rich Cottons are same as the ones used in making kanjivaram silk sarees. The quality of the dye used determines the longevity of the color and allure of the Saree.
Thavamstudioz takes pride in the fact that our weavers use the best quality dye available in the market and hence the colors don’t fade away even after several washes.
The use of starch while dyeing helps the yarns to gain the shine and long lasting life to the saree which makes it a piece that is always a part of heirlooms.
Rich Cottons are weaved on 240 hook Jacquard looms. Those usually are used for weaving Kanchivaram silk sarees to give the best details of the motifs on the Saree. The motifs on Rich Cotton is inspiration from its silk sarees.
The use of 240 hook jacquard looms also gives a great finish to the weaving which makes it a best in class quality cottons from the looms. And It usually takes around 4 to 5 days to weave a Rich Cotton.
